The Arts Management programme in English, located in Helsinki, focuses on management of cultural organizations and international networking. In this programme, the students will obtain versatile skills in arts management and leadership of arts and cultural organisations. Approximately 15 new students are admitted every second year. The next application period is in 2013.

The everyday studies take advantage of various studying methods - from learning diaries, team work and projects to exams, work placement and lectures.

The master's degree programme leads to the Master of Music degree (MMus, 150 ECTS credits, 2-2,5 years) and it aims at developing the student's research skills and critical thinking. Successful completion of the master's degree programme will open up an opportunity to apply for doctoral studies. The degree consists of the following studies:


Arts Management as the main subject

  • Study modules related to Arts Management and Arts Entrepreneurship
  • Research Methodology related studies
  • Master's thesis and Maturity test
     

Optional studies

  • In addition to the main subject studies, students are required to take optional study modules organized by the Arts Management department and other universities.


Language studies

  • Students whose native language is Finnish or Swedish: studies in Swedish or Finnish (other than the native language) and in a foreign language are required if they are not included in the studies for the Bachelor's degree. International students: studies in Finnish worth a minimum of 4 ECTS credits are required.
