WOULD YOU LIKE TO STUDY MUSIC AS A PRACTICE PUPIL AT THE SIBELIUS ACADEMY ?
We are looking for practice pupils for our music pedagogy students specialising in solo instruments (string and wind instruments, orchestral percussion, guitar, accordion, piano, organ, harpsichord, recorder, and other early music instruments), classical voice, and practical accompaniment. The music pedagogy students are completing their teaching practice in instrument, voice, and accompaniment.
The number of practice pupils needed varies yearly. Practice pupils are selected for one year at a time.
For strings (violin, viola, cello, and double bass) we are looking for beginning and more advanced practice pupils of different ages. If you speak English, you are welcome to study with our international pedagogy students.
For wind instruments we are looking for both beginners of 7-15 years of age and more advanced instrumentalists.
If you wish to play a brass instrument, you should be older than 10.
For piano, we are looking for 5-8-year-old beginners and advanced pianists with the 3/3 level certificate from a music school.
For voice studies, you will need to be 18-30 years of age. We appreciate earlier music studies and music reading skills.
For practical accompaniment, you will need to have played the piano at the 2/3 level, know how to read music, and, to some extent, be familiar with chords.
The service fee for practice pupils is €170 per semester (€340 per academic year) .
(Sibelius Academy students are exempt from the service fee.)
