The music education programme prepares students to work in the field in two languages. Contacts with schools and other future employers are close-knit. Students who have a master’s degree in music education can work as music teachers in primary, secondary and upper secondary schools, as well as in other positions that require expertise in music pedagogy. Graduates will also be prepared for doctoral studies. A balanced education in music, a command of subjects related to music, and pedagogic skills form the core of these studies. Bachelor of music studies last approximately 3 years, and the following master’s studies last 2.5 years. An efficient tutor system is in place to support advancement in studies. The system includes study counselling from supervisors, staff tutors, and peer advisors.
